Ontario insurance is turning into a right bitch. Cheapest quote I could get for the Burb and '69 Chrysler was $680/month for the two. Hagerty won't give me the time of day until I turn 26 and many companies wouldn't even consider insuring an old car.
I paid 160/month as a 20 year old to insure my '89 Swift and '66 Impala when I was living in Alberta. I'm also selling my Swift as it won't pass Ontario emissions in it's modified state. Ad here: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

I think you mean the Impala haha I bought it from an estate sale for $3k. I was the second owner and it had 40,000 KILOMETERS on it!!! It was a low spec car with a 283/powerglide and it was just the sweetest old girl. Drove great and reliable as stone. I sold it to pay for college.
The Chrysler has been off the road for three years but was repainted and restored in 2006. It's a 383 torqflite car and it also runs and drives great. I just have to fix some neglect stuff before I put some miles on it. Price? $1,800. It's even more waterbed like to drive than the Impala!

I wish I could give your swift a new home, I had a bog standard Holden Barina based on the same suzuki swift body as my first manual car, it saw much abuse and I'd love to relive my youth :d

Burb and '69 Chrysler was $680/month for the two
I'm a huge 60s Mopar fan, so the impala doesn't tickle my fancy (still a great car though). $1800 is a great deal for a 383 boat. I have a weird fantasy of driving a big sleeper sedan with a wide-bore 460+ ci RB block and building the engine underneath a rusty body, before dropping the block in something lightweight.

Hahaha you and me both! If anything ever happens to the 383 I'd love to build a mean 440 for it! Imagine trouncing Hondas while driving a living room! Here's a pic of the actual car.

From what I've heard, they're incredibly easy to swap blocks to and from.
Back in the day, my father had a 1970 Dodge Challenger with a limousine-spec 413 hooked up to an ex-nascar BW T-10 nickel-cut gear 4 speed on a crossram intake and custom designed exhaust on twin 4-barrel carburetors and a huge overbore.
